USDA Funds 31 Local Projects Totaling $5.69 Million To Lower Energy Costs, Generate New Income For PA Farmers, Rural Small Businesses

On March 28, the US Department of Agriculture announced the investment of more than $5.69 million in 31 renewable energy and energy efficiency projects in Pennsylvania. “These projects will lower energy costs, generate new income and create jobs for Pennsylvanian’s farmers, agricultural producers and rural small businesses,” said State Director for Rural Development Bob Morgan. In Pennsylvania, the 31 projects being announced in this current tranche represent 12 counties. The projects announced are being funded by the federal Inflation Reduction Act, the nation’s largest-ever investment in combating the climate crisis, through the Rural Energy for America Program. Project List Projects were funded in Bradford, Bucks, Chester, Cumberland, Lancaster, Lebanon, Mifflin, Perry, Snyder, Tioga, Wayne and York counties. Click Here for a list of projects funded. Applications Being Accepted USDA continues to accept Rural Energy for America Program applications and will hold funding competitions quarterly through September 30, 2024. The funding includes a dedicated portion for underutilized renewable energy technologies.
