PA Solar Center Webinar: Update On Federal Solar Energy Tax Credits

The PA Solar Center will host a May 17 webinar updating participants on federal solar energy tax credits under the Inflation Reduction Act from Noon to 1:30 p.m.

The Inflation Reduction Act of 2022 (IRA) has quickly transformed the clean energy world while enhancing access to the benefits of solar for businesses, nonprofits, governments, schools and many others for decades to come.

Following this legislative landmark, the Internal Revenue Service and U.S. Department of the Treasury embarked on a series of overlapping rulemaking processes that provided a steady stream of new guidance and requirements when applying for the new solar investment tax credits.

The Pennsylvania Solar Center is fostering connections to help stakeholders navigate these evolving guidelines and incentive programs so we can sustain a more resilient and equitable energy system for Pennsylvania's communities.

Join the Pennsylvania Solar Center and our guest experts for an update on key programs authorized by the Inflation Reduction Act.

Representatives from the Department of the Treasury and Interagency Working Group on Coal and Power Plant Communities will provide an update on the energy communities bonus credit and background on advancing support for energy communities.

We’ll also be joined by Cinnaire, a nonprofit community development financial organization that specializes in affordable housing, to discuss the IRA’s low-income bonus credit program for solar as well as the opportunities presented by the new tax credit transferability mechanism activated by the IRA and how the market is responding to the availability of these tax credits.
