DEP Sets July 10 Hearing On Portland Power Plant Air Quality Permit In Northampton County

The Department of Environmental Protection published notice in the June 8 PA Bulletin inviting comments on a Title V RACT 3 Air Quality Permit for the Portland Power, LLC Power Plant at a public hearing set for July 10 for the facility located in Upper Mount Bethel Township, Northampton County.  (PA Bulletin, page 3213)

The facility is a natural gas or fuel oil fired power plant.

The hearing will be held at DEP’s Northeast Regional Office, 2 Public Square in Wilkes-Barre starting at 10:00 a.m.

To register to speak at the hearing, please contact Shailesh Patel at 570-826-2357 or send an email to: spatel@pa.gov.  Speakers must pre-register in order to testify at the hearing. The last day to pre-register to speak at the hearing will be July 5, 2024.

DEP will accept comments for 30 days from the date of this notice-- July 8.
