DEP Invites Comments On Revised Oil & Gas Erosion & Sediment Control General Permit (ESCGP-4)

The Department of Environmental Protection published notice in the June 29 PA Bulletin inviting comments on a revised Oil and Gas Erosion and Sediment Control General Permit (ESCGP-4).

The Department is not proposing significant changes in ESCGP-4 from ESCGP-3 at this time, according to the notice..

DEP said the changes include--

-- Changes to make this permit consistent with PAG-2 (General NPDES Permit)

-- County and municipal notification forms

-- Post Construction Stormwater Management Manual Changes

-- Changes for ePermit consistency

-- Changes related to the Marcellus Shale Gas Coalition Lawsuit

-- Well site restoration language updates

The current ESCGP-3 is scheduled to expire at midnight on January 6, 2025.
