Governor’s Awards to be Presented at PEC Harrisburg Dinner April 17

The Pennsylvania Environmental Council will partner with the Commonwealth and the Department of Environmental Protection in announcing the 2007 Governor’s Awards for Environmental Excellence. The event will take place on April 17 at the Banquet Hall at the Farm Show Building on Cameron Street in Harrisburg. The Pennsylvania Environmental Council is honored to create this gala event around the 2007 Governor’s Awards for Environmental Excellence. These awards are the highest statewide honor bestowed on businesses and organizations. Previous winners of the Governor’s Award for Environmental Excellence are saving resources, saving money and helping build a healthier, stronger Pennsylvania through pollution prevention, waste reduction, recycling, indigenous resource use and technological innovation. These efforts are building new businesses in Pennsylvania, enhancing the bottom line and engaging residents in a renewed commitment to investing in their communities. At the dinner, the Pennsylvania Environmental Council will welcome Kathleen McGinty, Secretary of the Department of Environmental Protection.
