DEP Invites Comments At Hearings On Aug. 7 On RACT III Air Quality Permits For Owens Brockway Glass Plant 18 & Plant 19 In Jefferson County

The Department of Environmental Protection published notices in the July 6 PA Bulletin announcing August 7 hearings on RACT III Air Quality Permits for Owens Brockway Glass Plant 18 and Plant 19 in Jefferson County.  (PA Bulletin, page 3808 & page 3809)

The hearing for Plant 19 located in Snyder Township will be held on August 7 from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. at DEP’s Northwest Regional Office, 230 Chestnut Street in Meadville.

The hearing for Plant 18 located in Brockway Borough will be held on August 7 from 11:00 a.m. to Noon at DEP’s Northwest Regional Office, 230 Chestnut Street in Meadville.

Persons wishing to present testimony at the public hearing should register with Tom Decker, Regional Communications Manager for DEP’s Northwest Region, at thomadecke@pa.gov or phone 814.332.6615.

Speakers must pre-register in order to testify at the hearing. Registration to testify will close at 5:00 PM on Wednesday, July 31, 2024. In the event that no one registers for the hearing by July 31, 2024, the hearing will be canceled.

Public comments are due 30 days from the date of the PA Bulletin notice.
