Highlights of the environmental and energy notices in the July 27 PA Bulletin--

-- PA Oil & Gas Industrial Facilities: Permit Notices, Opportunities To Comment - July 27 [PaEN]

--The Department of Environmental Protection published notice in the July 27 PA Bulletin that it is requiring any facility operating under a temporary Title V Air Quality Plan Approval for more than 12 months to submit an application for a Title V Air Quality permit on or before November 25, 2024.

The requirement to submit a Title V Operating Permit application within 12 months of beginning operation will also apply to the owners or operators of new or modified Title V facilities authorized and operating under a plan approval after July 27, 2024.  Read more here.

-- The Susquehanna River Basin Commission published notice in the July 27 PA Bulletin the Executive Director gave his approval to or renewed 22 general water use permits in June for individual shale gas well drilling pads in Bradford, Susquehanna and Tioga counties. This brings the total general water permits approved by the SRBC in 2024 to 155.   Read more here.

-- The Department of Environmental Protection published notice in the July 27 PA Bulletin of its intention to rescind DEP ID: 294-2309-001 - Radon Certification Policy Technical Guidance because the contents were included in Chapter 240 regulations.

-- The Department of Environmental Protection published notice in the July 27 PA Bulletin announcing changes in the list of companies certified to perform radon-related activities in Pennsylvania.  (PA Bulletin, page 4402)

-- The Department of Environmental Protection published notice in the July 27 PA Bulletin announcing the approval of the Monroe County Municipal Waste Management Plan.  (PA Bulletin, page 4403)

Permit Hearings

-- The Department of Environmental Protection published notice in the July 27 PA Bulletin announcing an August 28 hearing on the NPDES Water Quality permit application for the 1,452 acre expansion of the underground LCT Energy Rustic Ridge Ridge #1 Metallurgical Coal Mine in Donegal Township, Westmoreland County and Saltlick Township, Fayette County.  (PA Bulletin, page 4401- 4402Read more here.

-- The Department of Environmental Protection published notice in the July 27 PA Bulletin announcing an August 29 hearing on an Individual NPDES Stormwater permit for the Blue Ridge Real Estate’s proposed 46+ acre truck terminal and warehouse in Kidder Township, Carbon County.  (PA Bulletin, page 4401Read more here.

-- The Department of Environmental Protection published notice in the July 27 PA Bulletin inviting comments on an Individual NPDES Stormwater Permit for the 43.77 acre Suncap Property Group Bellefonte Warehouse Project impacting Logan Branch Creek (High Quality) in Benner Township, Centre County.  (PA Bulletin, page 4352)

-- The Department of Environmental Protection published notice in the July 27 PA Bulletin issuing a major Waste Permit Modification to the Alliance Sanitary Landfill, Inc. to allow the disposal of waste containing PCBs at the facility located in Taylor and Old Forge Boroughs and Ransom Twp., Lackawanna County. (PA Bulletin, page 4390)

-- The Department of Environmental Protection published notice in the July 27 PA Bulletin announcing it had issued a modification to the Title V Air Quality Permit for the Interpower Alcon Partners, LP waste coal-fired power plant in Cambria Twp., Cambria County.  (PA Bulletin, page 4393)

-- The Department of Environmental Protection published notice in the July 27 PA Bulletin announcing it had issued a Chapter 105/Section 401 Water Quality Certification for the Crossroad XOX, LLC warehouse project impacting Black Creek located in Sugarloaf Twp., Luzerne County.  (PA Bulletin, page 4396)

-- The Department of Environmental Protection published notice in the July 27 PA Bulletin announcing it had issued a Chapter 105/Section 401 Water Quality Certification for the Sunnyside Road Associates, LLC warehouse project in Jessup Boro, Lackawanna County.  (PA Bulletin, page 4396)

-- The Susquehanna River Basin Commission published notice in the July 27 PA Bulletin the Executive Director approved a General Permit for water use by the Lear Corporation Pine Grove - Penn Dye and Finishing Plant in Pine Grove Borough, Schuylkill County. 

Grants

-- The Department of Conservation and Natural Resources published notice in the July 27 PA Bulletin it will begin accepting applications for ATV or Snowmobile Projects and Programs Grants on August 1.  The deadline to apply is September 30.  Read more here.

-- The Department of Environmental Protection published notice in the July 27 PA Bulletin announcing the award of a $56,611 Act 101 Section 901 Waste Planning Grant to Lycoming County.

Meetings/Hearings
