DEP To Hold Sept. 3 Hearing On Proposed Change Of Land Use On 2 Coal Mining Sites In Clearfield County

The Department of Environmental Protection will hold an informal public conference, hearing September 3 on a request by RES Coal LLC to change the land use on the Surveyor Run #1 Operation and Shaw #2 Operation coal mining sites in Goshen Township, Clearfield County.  (PA Bulletin, page 5305)

The request involves properties owned by the Shannon Land & Mining Company; by Alan R. Larson, Roger L. Larson, and GeoTech Engineering, Inc.; by Matthew A. Condon, Thomas L. Condon, and Todd L. Condon; by Robindale Energy Services, Inc.; and by RES Coal LLC.

The conference will be held at the Goshen Township Building/Firehall, 116 Knobs Road, Shawville from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m.

The conference will begin with an open house from 5:00—5:30 p.m., during which DEP staff will be available to answer questions and attendees may sign up to speak.

Beginning at 5:30 p.m., brief updates on the status of the applications will be given by DEP and RES Coal LLC, and then comments and questions regarding the land use change applications will be accepted.

Public comments are due by September 20.
