On August 27, Hourglass announced it will host a September 10 Trailblazers Forum on Outdoor Recreation In Lancaster County at the Ware Center, 42 N. Prince Street in Lancaster from 5:00 to 7:30 p.m.

The event will focus on the significant potential of outdoor recreation as a driver of community and economic development in Lancaster County.

The guest speaker will be Nathan Reigner, Director of Pennsylvania’s new Office of Outdoor Recreation.

Reigner will discuss the state’s strategy to develop Pennsylvania’s outdoor economy and its opportunities for Lancaster County, emphasizing the transformative impact of outdoor investments on tourism, workforce development, entrepreneurial opportunities, and overall quality of life.

“Outdoor recreation can be a game-changer for communities like Lancaster,” said Reigner. “Outdoor recreation is more than a good time outside – it is an industry and a critical asset for Pennsylvania’s economic competitiveness.  Investment in our outdoor assets, businesses, and culture not only attracts tourism but also enhances our workforce and creates distinctive places that contribute to our region’s unique quality of life. The event will feature:

-- A presentation of the latest developments in outdoor recreation locally, including multimodal trails, water trails, and new nature preserves.

-- A panel discussion with local leaders from EDC Lancaster, Lancaster Conservancy, Discover Lancaster, the Little Conestoga Blue/Green Corridor Project, and Quarryville Borough
