Penn State Extension Hosts Oct. 17 Webinar - Adenosine Triphosphate In Algal Bloom Tracking

The Penn State Extension will host another in its Water Cooler Talk Webinar Series on October 17 - Adenosine Triphosphate In Algal Bloom Tracking from Noon to 1:00 p.m.

Cyanobacteria, often known as blue-green algae, are making headlines for their potential to form harmful algal blooms (HABs), which can produce dangerous metabolites like cyanotoxins and taste and odor (T&O) compounds.

These blooms can disrupt aquatic ecosystem balance and pose significant risks to water quality and aquatic life.

Effective surface water monitoring is essential for early detection and management of HABs.

Join the Extension for this upcoming Water Cooler Talk, where they will explore the application potential of total adenosine triphosphate (tATP) as a tool for early bloom detection and response assessment during algaecide treatments.
