The Department of Environmental Protection announced on social media it is now accepting applications for approximately $1 million Small Business Advantage Grants on a first-come, first-served basis.  The deadline for applications is March 25.

The Program assists small businesses undertaking energy efficiency, pollution prevention or natural resource conservation projects.

It provides reimbursement grants to Pennsylvania-based small businesses to adopt processes or acquire equipment which result in energy efficiency, pollution prevention, and natural resource protection.

Funding can range from 50% or $7,500 (whichever is less) up to 80% or $12,000 (whichever is less) and will vary depending on environmental impact and project location (relating to Environmental Justice Areas).

Natural resource protection projects must provide enough information for the Department to quantify the reduction of nitrogen, phosphorus, and sediment loadings reaching the receiving waterway for agricultural projects and other pollution prevention for non-agricultural projects.
