Penn State Extension's Center for Agricultural Conservation Assistance Training is hosting an October 23 webinar on Identifying Environmentally Sensitive Areas On The Farm - Wetlands starting at Noon.
The webinar is designed to raise awareness about smart strategies for farming in sensitive ecosystems — particularly around wetlands.
Wetlands provide many ecosystem services to watersheds in any region, but not all are easy to identify, organizers noted.
This presentation will walk through the basics of wetlands and how to identify these systems in agricultural landscapes.
Instructors aim to equip participants to guide farmers in safeguarding the environment while maintaining productive and sustainable farming operations.
Participants will learn how to assess environmentally sensitive areas, understand their ecological significance, and implement best practices to minimize risks.
