Buffalo Creek Coalition Meets Nov. 14 In Butler County On State Of Watershed, Habitat Restoration, Lingering Hemlock Project

The Buffalo Creek Coalition, Audubon Society of Western PA and their partners will meet November 14 at the Buffalo Creek Nature Park, 154 Monroe Road in Sarver, Butler County starting from 3:30 to 5:00 p.m.  [online option available]

Join Audubon and the Buffalo Creek Coalition to learn about the state of the watershed, habitat restoration, monitoring, and education efforts and special guests from the Lingering Hemlock Project.

The Lingering Hemlock Project, a subset of the coalition making up The Nature Conservancy’s “Tree Species in Peril,” focuses on locating and selectively breeding eastern and Carolina hemlock trees demonstrating evidence of resistance to hemlock woolly adelgid (HWA).

They will  detail relevant, ongoing strategies for furthering HWA-resistant hemlock breeding in Pennsylvania.
