The League of Women Voters of Pennsylvania and the Pennsylvania Chapter of Physicians for Social Responsibility are proud to co-host the 2025 Shale Gas and Public Health Conference on February 27 at Duquesne University in Pittsburgh.

The conference will feature sessions on health studies, radiation and waste, water resources and contamination, plastics and hydrogen, and community outreach.

Since 2013, the League has supported the Straight Scoop on Shale educational initiative, which provides an opportunity for scientists, public health professionals, industry, and advocacy groups to present and learn more about the development of unconventional oil and gas, environmental impacts, and health risks.
