Mentors Wanted: Wildlife Leadership Academy Seeks Adult Mentors For Summer Field Schools

The Wildlife Leadership Academy is seeking interested adults to be mentors at wildlife and fisheries focused summer field schools to be held at the Krislund Camp and Conference Center in Madisonburg, Centre County. 

Adult mentors learn alongside Academy students, volunteering to serve as the primary mentors for the participating youth (ages 14-17) throughout the 5-day residential summer field schools. 

Positions are available at each of the 2025 field schools, which will focus on white-tailed deer, bass, brook trout, turkey, and bear.

The schools will be held: Bucktails: June 16-21; Bass: June 23-28; Brookies: July 7-12; Gobblers: July 14-19; and Ursids: July 21-26.

Individual field schools accommodates four adult mentors, each of whom is part of a team consisting of five youth and one youth mentor (a student who has participated in the program in a prior year).

Materials, food, and housing for the week are fully covered for all adult mentors for the week of field school. 

All mentors are eligible to receive 40 Act 48 credit hours and/or 3 graduate level college credits through Cedar Crest College (tuition cost applicable)
