PA Oil & Gas Industrial Facilities: Permit Notices, Opportunities To Comment - December 28

The following notices were published in the December 28 PA Bulletin related to oil and gas industry facilities. Many of the notices offer the opportunity for public comments. The Susquehanna River Basin Commission published notice in the December 28 PA Bulletin the Executive Director gave his approval to or renewed 18 general water use permits in November for individual shale gas well drilling pads in Bradford, Clearfield, Clinton, Lycoming, Susquehanna, Tioga and Wyoming counties. This brings the total general water permits approved by the SRBC in 2024 to 292. Read more here. The Susquehanna River Basin Commission published notice in the December 28 PA Bulletin of a modification to a water withdrawal permit for Seneca Resources Company to change the design of a shale gas development water withdrawal structure in Deerfield Township, Tioga County. Land Recycling/Brownfield Cleanups -- Coterra Energy, Inc. - K. Millard Shale Gas Well Pad 1: DEP received a Final Report on remediation of soil contaminated by production wastewater to meet Statewide Health Standards at the pad located in Jessup Twp., Susquehanna County. (PA Bulletin, page 8541) -- EQT Corporation - Kentor Shale Gas Well Pad: DEP received a Final Report on remediation of soil contaminated by production wastewater to meet the Statewide Health Standards at the pad located in Center Twp., Greene County. (PA Bulletin, page 8542) -- Diversified Production, LLC - Gaydos #5 Well Pad: DEP received a Final Report on remediation of soil contaminated with production wastewater-- aluminum, barium, boron, chloride, iron, lithium, manganese, selenium, strontium, vanadium, and zinc-- to meet the Statewide Health Standards at the pad located in Cumberland Twp., Greene County. (PA Bulletin, page 8543) 2024 Act 2 Oil & Gas Facility Pollution Cleanups So far in 2024, DEP received or acted on 274 Act 2 Land Recycling notices related to oil and gas facility site cleanups. Air Quality Permits -- Range Resources Corp - Stuart Nancy 11327 Shale Gas Well Pad: DEP approved a de minimis increase in air pollution authorized by GP-5A Air Quality General Permit for the facility located in Mount Pleasant Twp., Washington County. (PA Bulletin, page 8545) Chapter 105 Encroachment Permits -- JKLM Energy LLC - 20-Inch Shale Gas Water Pipeline, 20-Inch Gas Pipeline, 4-Inch Electrical Conduit: DEP approved a Chapter 105 permit for a pipeline project located in Lawrence Township and Lawrenceville Borough, Tioga County.
