On January 16, Sen. Gene Yaw (R-Lycoming) announced his intention to introduce legislation to tax gambling skill games and deposit the revenue in the state Clean Streams Fund to support the Agriculture Conservation Assistance Program.
“Regulating and taxing skill video games is estimated to generate $300 million in annual tax revenues,” said Sen. Yaw. “The legislation will direct these funds to be deposited into the Clean Streams Fund to become a funding source for the Agriculture Conservation Assistance Program (ACAP), which has become one of the most successful programs in reducing pollution from agriculture operations.”

The Agriculture Conservation Assistance Program is administered by the State Conservation Commission which provides funding to county conservation districts to support on-farm conservation projects.
The program is targeted to the Pennsylvania counties in the Chesapeake Bay Watershed.
Last year, the state budget included $50 million in what was intended to be recurring funding for the Clean Streams Fund. Read more here.
Visit the Agriculture Conservation Assistance Program webpage for more information on the program.
