DEP Sets March 20 Environmental Justice Hearing On New NPDES Water Quality Permit For The Westmoreland Landfill In Rostraver Township

The Department of Environmental Protection's Environmental Justice Office will hold a March 20 hearing on a new NPDES Water Quality Permit for the Westmoreland Sanitary Landfill in Rostraver Township.  (PA Bulletin, page 1543-1544).

The discharge from the wastewater treatment plant will impact an unnamed tributary of Speers Run into the Monongahela River.

The hearing will be held at the Rostraver Central Fire Department Social Hall, at 1100 Fells Church Rd, Rostraver Township from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m.

Individuals wishing to testify at the hearing submit a written notice of intent by 4:00 p.m. March 19, 2025, to Emily Green, Environmental Justice Coordinator at emgreen@pa.gov.
