DCNR Now Accepting Applications For Members Of The Conservation & Natural Resources Advisory Council

The Department of Conservation and Natural Resources is now accepting applications for members on the agency's Conservation and Natural Resources Advisory Council. The 18-member Council, appointed by the Governor, Senate President Pro Tempore and Speaker of the House, provides advice on conservation and stewardship of the state's natural resources under the jurisdiction of DCNR. Specifically, the Council duties include-- -- Review all conservation and natural resource laws of the Commonwealth and make appropriate suggestions for the revision, modification, and codification thereof. -- Consider, study, and review the work of the Department and for this purpose, the Council shall have access to all books, papers, documents, and records pertaining to or belonging to the Department. -- Advise the Department, on request, and make recommendations upon its initiative, for the improvement of the work of the Department. -- Report annually to the Governor and to the General Assembly, and make such interim reports as are deemed advisable. Council members should be knowledgeable in fields related to the work of DCNR and the term of office for members is three years Click Here for information on how to apply.
