PA Assn. Of Environmental Professionals Host March 18 Webinar On Emerging PFAS 'Forever Chemicals' Treatment Technologies

The PA Association of Environmental Professionals will host a March 18 webinar providing an overview of emerging PFAS 'Forever Chemicals' treatment technologies starting at Noon.

The discussion will include an overview of “concentration” technologies, such as GAC, resins, and foam fractionation coupled with emerging destruction technologies such as super critical water oxidation (SCWO), electrochemical oxidation, plasma, and others. 

The material will include the development state of each technology and some of the advantages and challenges for each.

The presenter will be Joe Tarsavage, the Division Manager for Battelle Memorial Institute’s Environmental Services Division. 

Joe has more than 35 years’ experience in environmental consulting largely focused on site remediation involving emerging technologies and contaminants such as PFAS. 

He has a BS degree in Chemical Engineering from the University of Delaware and is a licensed engineer in Pennsylvania.

Battelle Memorial Institute is the largest independent nonprofit research and development institute in the world.

Battelle has a long history of developing solutions to the evolving issues surrounding PFAS including developing analytical methods, fate and transport modelling, and PFAS remediation and destruction technologies.
