The Department of Environmental Protection published notice in the March 1 PA Bulletin announcing the approval of an Air Quality Permit for the Nova Energy LLC Cryptocurrency Data Center in Frenchcreek Township, Venango County. (PA Bulletin, page 1859)
The permit covers three natural gas-fired engines used to generate electricity and corresponding well pad emissions.
The operation of this facility is expected to result in emitting 28.56 tons per year of volatile organic compounds, 22.83 tons of NOx and 6.45 tons of hazardous air pollutants.
