DEP Citizens Advisory Council To Hear Presentations From PA Solar Center, DCED On Housing Action Plan March 11

The DEP Citizens Advisory Council is scheduled to meet on March 11 to hear presentations from the Pennsylvania Solar Center on solar energy programs and the Department of Community and Economic Development on the state Housing Action Plan. Also on the agenda is DEP Acting Secretary Jessica Shirley to provide an update on agency activities. PA Solar Center Sharon Pillar, Executive Director of the Pennsylvania Solar Center, will give a presentation on the Solar for Schools Grant Program, solar equipment recycling and House Bill 272 (Merski-D-Erie) establishing a solar energy grant program for local governments and first responders. Housing Action Plan Morgan Boyd, Special Assistant to the DCED Secretary will give a presentation on the state Housing Action Plan being developed under Executive Order 2024-3. DCED, in collaboration with other agencies and stakeholders, was directed by the Governor to develop a strategy to help ease the burden of high housing costs in Pennsylvania by increasing the supply and preservation of housing.
