Pennsylvanians will soon be able to apply for Penn Energy Savers rebates to help individual households and multifamily buildings upgrade to energy efficient appliances and do building retrofits to reduce home energy bills. The Department of Environmental Protection received $258 million in federal Inflation Reduction Act funding to help families lower their energy bills through two programs. Home Efficiency Rebates The Home Efficiency Rebate incentivizes energy efficiency upgrades through air-sealing, insulation, heating, ventilation, and air-conditioning, and more. Pennsylvania aims to prioritize funding multi-family affordable housing projects with its Home Efficiency Rebates. Home Electrification & Appliance Rebates The Home Electrification and Appliance Rebate will provide rebates per unit for low to moderate income families to incentivize the adoption of heat pumps for space heating and cooling; heat pump water heaters; heat pump clothes drives; and electric stoves, cooktops, ranges, or ovens. Rebate funds can also be used to cover electric load service centers, wiring, insulation, air-sealing, and mechanical ventilation products. Appliance Rebates Offered -- Heat Pump Water Heater: $1,750 -- Heat Pump for Space Heating or Cooling: $8,000 -- Electric Stove, Cooktop, Range, Oven: $840 -- Heat Pump Clothes Dryer: $840 Building Retrofits -- Insulation, Air Sealing and Ventilation: $1,600 -- Electric Load Service Center: $4,000 -- Electric Wiring: $2,500 [Note: Maximum rebate for combined appliances and materials is $14,000, covers labor and material costs for the qualified products.] Eligibility - Individual Households -- Low Income (Below 80% of Area Median Income): Rebates can cover up to o100% of your project costs, up to the maximum rebate limit -- Moderate income (81% to 150% of AMI): Rebates cover 50% of your project costs Eligibility - Multifamily Buildings At least 50% of building residents must meet these income limits-- -- Low Income (Below 80% of Area Median Income): Rebates can cover up to o100% of your project costs, up to the maximum rebate limit -- Moderate income (81% to 150% of AMI): Rebates cover 50% of your project costs Click Here to check your eligibility.
