Grow Rural PA and the North Central PA Regional Planning and Development Commission will host a March 26 lunch and learn about Project NuREEsource Demonstration Scale Rare Earth Metal and Critical Minerals recovery facility in Clearfield County.

The facility will process clay wastes associated with the mining of coal that is sourced from Pennsylvanian Mine Sites. 

The project is currently in FEL-3 stage of development, funded by a $5.3M grant from the U.S. Department of Energy and $1.3M in cost share from local mining operators and project partners.

-- Project NuREEsource update including project background with the Dept. of Energy, high-level techno-economic details, along with current project status and future development

-- Max Schultz, director of Energy Infrastructure Solutions, Critical Investments, Office of Governor Shapiro

The program will be held at the River’s Landing Event Center, 139 West Market Street in Clearfield from 11:30 to 1:00 p.m.
