PA iMapInvasives Program Releases Results Of Citizen Science Invasive Species Scavenger Hunts In 2023, 2024

On March 6, the PA iMapInvasives Program released the results of a citizen science Invasive Species Scavenger Hunt in 2023 and 2024. This statewide outdoor survey is designed to encourage natural resource professionals and community scientists to search for and report their findings of several invasive species found anywhere in the Commonwealth. Some of the species targeted for surveys in the most recent Scavenger Hunts (2023 & 2024) included: Mile-a-minute vine; Princess tree; Chinese & Japanese mysterysnails; Beech leaf disease (nematode); Hammerhead flatworms; and Black jetbead.
