PA Environmental Council April 17 Dinner Honors Governor’s Award Winners

The Pennsylvania Environmental Council this week announced that the Dominion Foundation, Constellation Energy, InterPower/AHL Con and PPL will serve as sponsors for a dinner in Harrisburg on April 17 to honor the recipients of the 2007 Governor’s Award for Environmental Excellence.

The Dominion Foundation will serve as the Premier Sponsor, Constellation Energy and InterPower/AHL Con will co-sponsor the dinner reception and PPL will be a Silver Sponsor.

“These four sponsors recognize that quality of life in Pennsylvania is tied to environmental excellence,” noted Brian Hill, President & CEO of the Pennsylvania Environmental Council. “They are committed to helping PEC promote innovative organizations and businesses that are leading the way in securing a clean and healthy future for our Commonwealth.”

Kathleen A. McGinty, Secretary of the Department of Environmental Protection, will also be keynote speaker at the event.

The Governor’s Award for Environmental Excellence is the highest statewide honor bestowed on businesses and organizations for environmental performance and innovation.

Previous winners of the Governor’s Award for Environmental Excellence are saving millions of kilowatt hours of electricity, billions of gallons of water, reducing and recycling millions of tons of waste and eliminating tons air pollution from the environment.

The Pennsylvania Environmental Council is honored to create this gala event around the 2007 Governor’s Awards.

The dinner event will take place on April 17 at the Banquet Hall at the Farm Show Building on Cameron Street in Harrisburg.
