The Joint Legislative Air and Water Pollution Control and Conservation Committee will hold its Earth Day 2007 Environmental Issues Forum on April 16 at 12 noon in Room 205, Ryan Building, Harrisburg.

The guest speaker will be Julia Marano, executive director of the Keep Pennsylvania Beautiful organization. Marano will provide an overview of KPB's progress in the areas of litter and illegal dumping prevention and cleanup, community enhancement and beautification, and proper waste handling.

In addition, Marano will describe some of KPB's projects that involve partnerships with state agencies and other organizations. Included in these projects are a campaign to improve Pennsylvania's roadside aesthetics, college internship opportunities and results, an update on the 2007 Great Pennsylvania Cleanup (which kicks off April 21), the "Litter Free School Zone" project and the "Clean Up Our Anthracite Lands and Streams" (C.O.A.L.S) beautification program.
