The Senate Environmental Resources and Energy Committee this week reported out legislation to raise fees on nuclear power plants and to change the Storage Tank Act. The bills include:

· Senate Bill 782 (MJWhite-R-Venango) that would increase fees on nuclear power plants and for transport escorts (which was later referred to the Senate Appropriations Committee); and

· Senate Bill 815 (Musto-D-Luzerne) that would amend the Storage Tank Act to extend the sunset dates on certain programs.

The Committee is chaired by Sen. Mary Jo White (R-Venango) and Sen. Ray Musto (D-Luzerne).
