On the Senate/House Agenda

The House and Senate have scheduled the following Committee meetings and hearings as well as published their voting Calendars —

Committees

House: the Environmental Resources and Energy Committee meets to consider House Bill 1380 (Bennington-D-Allegheny) amending the Clean Streams Law prohibiting the release of untreated agricultural waste that contains more than 10 parts per million of arsenic and Special Session House Bill 2 (Gerger-D-Montgomery) PennFuels renewable fuels mandate as proposed by Gov. Rendell and holds a hearing on the Governor’s Special Session Energy Proposals; the Local Government Committee holds an information meeting on House Bill 1525 (Steil-R-Bucks) providing for greenways, stormwater and other green infrastructure improvements and House Bill 1787 (McIlvain-Smithe-D-Montgomery) amending the Municipalities Planning Code related to curative amendments; the Urban Affairs, Subcommittee on Third Class Cities holds a hearing on revitalizing the Commonwealth’s smaller cities.

Other: the Joint Legislative Air & Water Pollution Control and Conservation Committee holds a hearing on electronic waste recycling; the Joint Legislative Budget & Finance Committee meets to release a report on a review of Pennsylvania’s Homeland Security Program pursuant to Senate Resolution 366 (D.White-R-Indiana).

Calendars

House: House Bill 1201 (George-D-Clearfield) making changes to Title 66 (Utility Code) consistent with Gov. Rendell’s Energy Independence Proposal, including the proposed system benefit charge; House Bill 1649 (Barrar-R-Chester) requiring the fluoridation of public water supplies; House Resolution 112 (Mann-D-Lehigh) directing DEP to implement policies that encourage electronic waste recycling; House Resolution 268 (Rohrer-R-Berks) directing the Legislative Budget and Finance Committee to study Game Commission forestry and mineral development policies.
