Pennsylvania Again Leads U.S. in Deer-Car Collisions, Over 98,000

Pennsylvania leads every other state in the number of insurance claims submitted as a result of deer-car collisions and the most overall collisions—98,313, according to State Farm Insurance. The likelihood of a deer-car collision in Pennsylvania is 1 in 100.

West Virginia leads all the states in the chances for a collision at 1 in 57, but the overall number of collisions is less than a third of Pennsylvania at 23,607. Michigan is second with a 1 in 86 chance and 96,451 collisions with Wisconsin at third with a 1 in 99 chance and 47,589 collisions.

Property damage attributed to collisions in Pennsylvania is over $78 million.
