PA Historical and Museum Commission Grant Applications Due December 3

Non-profit organizations and local governments have until December 3 to apply for history and museum project grants from the Pennsylvania Historical and Museum Commission.

Projects eligible to be funded by the grants include historic preservation, organization development, collections management and local and public history, among other areas.

"The grants can help organizations learn how to maintain records and collections and support them in exhibit planning and more." PHMC Executive Director Barbara Franco said. "I urge eligible organizations to apply for this funding to support their programs."

The competitive grants range from $5,001 to $15,000 and are made annually, based on a peer review process. For 2007, the commission awarded more than $675,000 to more than 70 non-profit organizations and local governments throughout the Commonwealth.

Project grant applications must be submitted via eGrant. Assistance in preparing grant applications is available at 717-787-4363.
