DCNR Advisory Council Makes Recommendations on Trails, Greenways

A new report by the Conservation and Natural Resources Advisory Council to the Department of Conservation and Natural Resources said trails and greenways programs should be better coordinated between agencies and that DCNR should be a one-stop information source for trails.

The report also recommended prioritizing grant awards for trails and greenways to better reflect trails policies, more marketing of trails in outdoor recreation programs and expansion of trail maintenance and DCNR staff dealing with trails.

DCNR was recognized for making significant improvements in trail and greenway activities in the last few years.

A copy of the report is available online.
