There is no better time for the celebration and preservation of our natural and cultural heritage than April, the first full month of Spring! Join the Kiski-Conemaugh Stream Team and Natural Biodiversity as they open Outdoor Heritage Month in Somerset.

Outdoor Heritage Month is a local celebration in conjunction with Earth Day, National Arbor Day, National and Global Youth Service Day, and the National Wildlife Federation’s National Wildlife Week that reconnects communities to the rich natural heritage of the Allegheny Mountains.

Though it is a locally based event, Outdoor Heritage Month is part of a global effort to connect volunteers with service opportunities, promote civic engagement, and mobilize youth to serve their communities.

Many area partners will be involved, including conservation districts, public officials, watershed associations, and more. With events aimed to please both children and adults, Outdoor Heritage Month gives everyone an opportunity to join forces for the preservation and improvement of our local environment!
