Earth Day - Clinton County CleanScapes Schedules Four Cleanup, Beautification Events

The Clinton County CleanScapes Program has scheduled four cleanup and beautification programs in the coming months. They include:

April 10-- Chapman Twp., Clinton County. Join CCC and DCNR Sproul Forest staff as they remove illegally dumped debris from a future snowmobile trail adjacent to Boone Rd. just north of Renovo. The cleanup site is moderately to steeply sloped and rocky. Pre-registration required by 12 noon on April 8.

April 26-- Castanea Twp., Clinton County. Join CCC for this litter and illegally dumped woody debris removal project. The PPL right-of-way is flat and may be muddy. Side areas may be moderately to steeply sloped. Waterproof shoes are recommended. Pre-registration required by 12 noon on April 24.

July 19--Woodward Twp., Clinton County. Join CCC, Sunken Treasure Scuba Center and Citizen Hose Co. Water Rescue members during the 5th Annual West Branch Susquehanna River and Roadway cleanup event. Boaters will launch from Farrandsville Road and hikers will cleanup scenic Farrandsville Road. Canoe/kayak shuttle service and kayak rentals are available by calling Rock, River and Trail Outfitters at 570-748-1818. Pre-registration required by 12 noon on July 17.

August 16-- Jersey Shore Borough, Lycoming County & Pine Creek Twp., Clinton County. Join CCC, Sunken Treasure Scuba Center and Jersey Shore Borough for the 2nd Annual Two Rivers Cleanup Event. Boaters will remove man-made debris from the lower reach of Pine Creek to the West Branch Susquehanna River and end at the Jersey Shore boat launch. Waders will remove tires from a pre-selected site. Canoe/kayak shuttle service and kayak rentals are available by calling Rock, River and Trail Outfitters at 570-748-1818. Pre-registration required by 12 noon on August 14.
