From November 18 to 24, DEP’s Oil and Gas Compliance Database shows oil and gas inspectors filed 296 inspection entries.

The following DEP notices were published in the November 25 PA Bulletin related to oil and gas industry facilities.  Many of the notices offer the opportunity for public comments.

In October, the Executive Director of the Susquehanna River Basin Commission gave his approval to 19 water use permits for individual shale gas well drilling pads in Bradford, Lycoming, Susquehanna, Tioga, Wyoming counties.  (formal notice)

The Susquehanna River Basin Commission is scheduled to hold a business meeting December 14 on water withdrawal requests-- including seven related to shale gas drilling in Bradford, Lycoming, Snyder and Tioga counties and the Loyalsock and Pine Creek Exceptional Value Watersheds.   (formal notice)

On November 21, the Shapiro Administration released this statement on its decision to appeal the November 1 decision of Commonwealth Court declaring the DEP regulation limiting carbon pollution from power plants (RGGI) an “invalid tax" to the PA Supreme Court.

On November 21, the PA Solar Center and Fair Shake Environmental Legal Services announced the release of our their Guidebook For Leasing Land For Large-Scale Solar Development to help Pennsylvania landowners – particularly those with large parcels of land – navigate the process of leasing their land for large-scale solar development.

The Department of Environmental Protection is now accepting applications for Driving PA Forward Onroad Rebate Funding to replace diesel trucks, school buses and transit buses.  The deadline for applications is February 2.  (formal notice)

The PA Resources Council announces three Traveling Glass Recycling Bin locations in Delaware and  Montgomery counties in December.

On November 21, Department of Conservation and Natural Resources Secretary Cindy Adams Dunn announced the agency has added the 2,500-acre Miller Mountain property in Wyoming County, and the property is now included in Pinchot State Forest.

The Cornell Lab Of Ornithology will begin accepting applications for its Land Trust Bird Conservation Initiative in January.  Applications are due March 1.

The 4th Annual Breeding Bird Blitz for Conservation, hosted by the Pennsylvania Society for Ornithology is seeking nonprofit organizations that support the conservation of Bird Species of Greatest Conservation Need in Pennsylvania.
