Thinking Like a Watershed Workshop For Teachers November 4

The Pennsylvania Environmental Council and other partners will hold a workshop for 4th through 8th grade teachers in the Chester, Ridley, Crum and Darby watersheds entitled, "Thinking Like A Watershed," on November 4 at Ridley Creek State Park. Attendees at thiscreative one day in-service workshop for teachers and science curricula coordinators will receive in-class instruction and hands-on activities correlated to the Pennsylvania Academic Standards for Environment and Ecology– Watersheds and Wetlands strand, time to network with watershed protection experts, an opportunity to conduct real tests in a local stream, Act 48 credit, and a notebook with accompanying cd with lesson plan templates and other resources. Registration is free and includes lunch. This workshop is being jointly organized by the Pennsylvania Environmental Council,Chester-Ridley-Crum Watersheds Association, Darby Creek Valley Association, Delaware Valley Earth Force, and the Delaware County Intermediate Unitand theFairmount Waterworks Interpretive Center.
