The following bills of interested saw action this week-- Senate A description of the Senate action on key Senate-sponsored budget bills is included under the House for simplicity's sake.
Schuylkill River Day: Senate Resolution 193 (Rafferty-R-Montgomery) designating October 13 as "Schuylkill River Day" was adopted by the Senate. House General Fund Budget: House Bill 1416 (D.Evans-D-Philadelphia) providing for a General Fund Budget. The House dissolved the Senate-House Budget Conference Committee on this legislation and referred the bill into the House Rules Committee, amended the bill, and then passed the bill and was concurred in by the Senate. The Governor will sign the bill into law.
Tax Code: House Bill 1531 (George-D-Clearfield) containing the Tax Code changes and revenue "enhancements" needed to balance the budget was concurred in by the House. The Governor will sign the bill into law. Fiscal Code: House Bill 1614 (Belfanti-D-Northumberland)which contains the Fiscal Code changes needed to implement the budget agreement including creating an independent Budget Office, rather than the Governor's Office, to prepare revenue estimates which drive the budget process, the leasing of State Forest land for natural gas drilling and many other changes. The Senate amended and passed the bill and the House amended and passed, the Senate concurred. The Governor will sign the bill into law.
Landslide Insurance: The House Insurance Committee amended and reported out House Bill 523 (DeLuca-D-Allegheny) authorizing a Landslide Insurance. The bill was then referred to the House Appropriations Committee. |
