Spotlight- DCNR: 15th Anniversary, State Park Online Reservation System

As sophisticated data systems became more cost-effective throughout the 1990s, it became clear that the Bureau of State Parks would greatly enhance their customer service with a centralized way for park visitors to make reservations. With a web-based, “Do It Yourself” system still a number of years into the future, the call center provided a convenience that was well-received. Gov. Ridge announced in his July 1998 Radio Address the opening of the system.
Despite the web system becoming available in early 2006, the toll free number 1-888-PA-PARKS still takes thousands of calls a year.
