Game Commission Delivers Annual Report To House Committee
|
Game Commission Executive Director Carl Roe presented his agency's annual report in testimony before the House Game and Fisheries Committee this week.
Roe highlighted a number of issues facing the Commission including: the recent Legislative Budget and Finance Committee's Deer Management Report, a new assessment of forest health being conducted by the Commission and the U.S. Forest Service and the expansion of local Citizen Advisory Committees.
The biggest challenge facing the Commission Roe said was its financial stability. Roe noted the commission has not had a license increase since 1998.
"I know of no other business or government entity that is still operating on primary revenue streams that are 13 years old," said Roe.
A complete copy of the annual report is available online.
Rep. John Evans (R-Crawford) serves as Majority Chair of the Committee and Rep. Edward Staback (D-Luzerne) serves as Minority Chair.
