House Environmental Committee OKs Green Building, Marcellus Shale 911 Bills

The Environmental Resources and Energy Committee Wednesday approved legislation requiring state-owed or leased buildings to meet certain energy efficiency standards and other bills. The legislation reported out includes: 
-- House Bill 193 (Harper-R-Montgomery) requiring state-owned or leased buildings to meet certain green standards (amended);
-- House Bill 1813 (Tobash-R-Berks) amending the surface mining act to further providing for a reclamation financial guarantee;
-- Senate Bill 995 (Baker-R-Luzerne) requiring Marcellus Shale gas wells to post certain 911 response information (amended); and
-- House Resolution 438 (Cruz-D-Philadelphia) urging Philadelphia to establish a waste tire removal and disposal program.
            Rep. Scott Hutchinson (R-Venango) serves as Majority Chair and Rep. Bud George (D-Clearfield) is Minority Chair.
