POWR: Regional Heritage Grants Could Fund Your Watershed Projects
|
The PA Organization for Watersheds and Rivers this week promoted two regional Heritage Grant Programs in the Lumber Heritage and Endless Mountains regions which could help fund watershed projects.
The Lumber Heritage Region of Pennsylvania, based in the 12 county PA Wilds part of the state, is accepting applications for their 2012 mini-grant program. The deadline for applications is January 31.
Eligible projects include implementation of elements of a watershed management plan, among other things. Funding is available to support projects totaling $30,000 with a maximum award of $5,000 per application. The grant amount must be matched 100 percent with funds from other sources. Funds must be expended by December 31, 2012. Click Here for more details.
The Endless Mountains Heritage Region in Bradford, Sullivan, Susquehanna and Wyoming Counties also has opened their 2012 mini-grant cycle. This program has more specific priorities, but there still may be room within them for your watershed project.
Notice of intent forms are due by January 15. Click Here for more details.
