The Friends of the Wissahickon encourage families to join Susan Charkes, author of Outdoors with Kids Philadelphia and the Appalachian Mountain Club's Best Day Hikes Near Philadelphia, for a guided hike in Wissahickon Valley Park on July 13 at 2 p.m.

This event is perfect for families with children. Participants will cover two miles during this mild, 1.5 hour hike.

This event is being presented by the Appalachian Mountain Club, Friends of the Wissahickon and the Wissahickon Environmental Center. Participants will learn about the work done by FOW at the Wissahickon Environmental Center.

Meet at the WEC, 300 Northwestern Ave., Philadelphia. Wear breathable clothing, comfortable shoes/hiking boots, and hats/sunglasses/sunscreen, as needed. Bring water and snacks.
