More Utilities Answer Call to Help Pennsylvanians Stay Warm

Gov. Rendell this week announced that a dozen utilities took additional steps to help vulnerable customers stay safe and warm this winter, including a commitment of $12 million in new funds to help pay bills for low-income customers. “I commend The Governor made the announcement with representatives from PECO, PPL, UGI, Allegheny Power, Rural Electric Association and PG Energy. Other utility companies agreeing to participate in the initiative include Duquesne Light, First Energy, Columbia Gas, Dominion Peoples, Equitable Gas and National Fuel Gas.
