Energy Efficiency, Pollution Reduction Grants Help Small Businesses

The Department of Environmental Protection this week awarded 45 grants totaling $275,000 to help small businesses cut costs, save energy and reduce pollution under the Small Business Advantage Program. State Small Business Advantage grants provide a 50 percent match of up to $7,500 for equipment or processes that reduce energy consumption and promote pollution prevention while increasing profitability. The program has awarded more than $1 million to more than 400 recipients across the state in the last two years. The next grant application cycle for Small Business Advantage Program will open July 1.
