The Partnership for the Delaware Estuary has scheduled three public listening sessions as the first step in revising the Comprehensive Conservation Management Plan for the Estuary.  The Pennsylvania session will be held August 11 at DEP’s Norristown Regional Office at 2 Main Street from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m.

The listening sessions will provide information about this important plan for the future of the Delaware River and Bay and its tributaries, and to gather ideas and questions from people who live and/or work in the region.

The Comprehensive Conservation and Management Plan is a blueprint for collective action to make the Delaware Estuary region’s water drinkable, fishable, and swimmable by 2020. To be successful at this is a long-term team effort, lots of action is required by many other people, agencies, and organizations over 25 years.

When it comes to the Plan, the Partnership acts as both a coach and a player.

As a coach, the Partnership encourages and tracks the efforts of others on projects and programs to address CCMP actions – particularly the environmental agencies on the Estuary Implementation Committee and Steering Committee.

As a player, the Partnership works directly on projects and programs that address CCMP actions. Our goals, objectives, and strategies for being a successful coach and player for 2013-2018 are expressed in a 5-Year Strategic Plan.

Like all National Estuary Programs, the Partnership is a science-based and stakeholder driven program.  If you live, work or play in the Delaware Estuary, you are a stakeholder and your input is important to the Partnership.
