The Pittsburgh Section of the American Society of Civil Engineers will hold its 9th Annual Sustainability Conference on November 16 at the August Wilson Center, 980 Liberty Avenue in Pittsburgh from 8:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. The theme of this year’s conference is Engineering a Sustainable Economy - Innovating Solutions for the 21st Century. Across the globe, business and public agencies are implementing sustainable engineering practices to reduce ecological impacts, optimize social benefits, stand out with stakeholders and stimulate financial and social return on investments. Significant cost savings and related economic benefits are being achieved by incorporating sustainable practices within procurement approaches, engineering design standards and operations. The conference will showcase various strategies, tools, and real-world case studies where innovation is driving change in the way we do business. Lively discussions along with questions and answer sessions from leading experts on the topic will be conducted. Engineers, architects, city planners, government officials and related infrastructure practitioners are all encouraged to attend.
