The public is invited to experience electric and hybrid vehicle technology at the Drive Electric PA Coalition’s Ride & Drive event with the PA GreenGov Council on October 23, at 10:00 a.m. on Commonwealth Avenue (in front of the Capitol Fountain) in Harrisburg.

Attendees can learn more about electric vehicle technology and test-drive some models from manufacturers such as Tesla and Nissan.

Agency representatives of the GreenGov Council-- the departments of General Services, Environmental Protection, and Conservation and Natural Resources-- along with PennDOT will discuss the future of electric vehicles and efforts to increase the use of the technology and expand the supporting infrastructure in Pennsylvania.

The Drive Electric Pennsylvania Coalition includes public and private sector partners and other interested stakeholders.  Its mission is to educate consumers, fleet managers, and government decision makers about the benefits of EVs, the increasing availability of EV models, and the capabilities of the technology to reduce greenhouse gas emissions and reduce PA’s dependence on petroleum fuel.

The GreenGov Council encourages the incorporation of environmentally sustainable practices into the Commonwealth's policy, planning, operations, procurement, and regulatory functions.

The Council works with state agencies to promote best practices, continuous improvement and success in achieving the energy efficiency and performance goals established in Executive Order 2019-01.
