The Pennsylvania Lake Management Society will hold its 17th Annual Lake and Watershed Management Conference on October 25- 26 at the Days Inn, State College.

PALMS is also accepting entries for its 2006 Photo Contest until October 24.

The theme of this year’s conference is “New Technologies for Lake Management” and will feature keynote speakers Dr. Alex Home, Professor of Ecological Engineering from the University of California at Berkeley and Robert Johnson, manager of the Cornell Ponds in New York.

Workshops will feature practical case studies on a variety of lake and pond management problems and issues, dam removals, aquatic pesticide use, environmental planning for lake communities, improving fish habitat and fish stocking programs.
