The North American Manure Expo (NAME) will be hosted in Chambersburg, Franklin on July 13 and 14, 2022. This year's event will feature a local stream tour led by the Penn State Extension Water Team on July 13th.

The 3-hour tour will include two stops; one in an agricultural area where the landowner is participating in buffer and stream restoration projects, and one at a forested headwaters location. Participants will learn about stream health evaluation and the influences that agricultural practices can have on streams and water quality.

Manure Expo provides a unique opportunity for livestock owners, professional manure handlers, and conservation specialists to learn about the latest technologies and practices that aim to balance conservation and agricultural production on lands that receive manure.

Over 100 vendors of manure handling and nutrient management technologies are expected to showcase their products and services.

A unique aspect of NAME is the side-by-side application demonstrations where manure spreader manufacturers show off the performance of their solid and liquid spreaders.

Attendees will have the opportunity to choose from several field and tent-based educational sessions.

Pennsylvania was last selected to host NAME in 2015, when over 2,000 people from 26 states attended the focused event.

Learn more and register at NAME's website. Registrants will be notified of, and can participate in, the Top 10 Rejected Manure Expo Slogans T-shirt contest in early summer.

You must register and show up in Chambersburg to get a T-shirt. We encourage you to register and (as a previously rejected T-shirt slogan suggested) be part of the movement.

Questions and programming ideas are always welcome. Feel free to contact Robb Meinen at Penn State’s Department of Animal Science. rjm134@psu.edu or call 814-865-5986.
