Penn State Center For Agricultural Conservation Assistance Training Hosts 3-Part Conservation Cornerstone Webinar Series For Ag Professionals Starting Aug. 27

To help agriculture professionals who are beginning their journey in agricultural conservation, the Center for Agricultural Conservation Assistance Training administered by Penn State Extension is launching a new monthly webinar series-- Conservation Cornerstone-- that will take place in August, September and October. This series is aimed at newer conservation district employees, agricultural conservation professionals, and individuals associated with the Agriculture Conservation Assistance Program or other conservation financial assistance programs. The webinars will explore conservation fundamentals including agricultural literacy, technical skills and professional etiquette, plus provide an opportunity for informal questions and answers among peers. The Conservation Cornerstone series will include the following one-hour webinars: -- August 27: “ABC’s of Agricultural Conservation,” 8:30 a.m. This session will introduce acronyms and terminology essential for agricultural conservation. Click Here to register. -- September 24: “Pennsylvania Ag Plans,” 8:30 a.m. Participants can gain a basic understanding of required agricultural plans including soil, manure and odor. Click Here to register. -- October 29: “Working With Plain Sect Farmers,” 8:30 a.m. This webinar will explore the diversity within plain sect farming communities, their approaches to agricultural practices and their beliefs about conservation. Click Here to register. Penn State Extension offers this series at no charge, but registration is required to receive the links to access the webinars. A link to each recorded webinar will be emailed to registrants within 10 business days after the live event. Participants can access the recording for six months from the event date.
